Dutch Fork notes: The Silver Foxes fell to 1-3 last week, and are still trying how to figure out how to win close games. Last week DF dropped a 31-28 decision to Blythewood in the wake of a 14-7 loss to to Ridge View … The fact is Dutch Fork has dropped 13 of 16 outings since the final regular season game in 2007 … Brandon Quattlebaum had a huge individual game vs. Blythewood – running for 141 yards and two touchdowns and catching seven passes for 108 yards. To date, the emerging sophomore star has 443 yards rushing, 13 catches for 144 yards and 40 yards passing … Senior Marshall Williams has 11 tackles vs. Blythewood and leads the team with 42 stops overall.

North Augusta notes: The Yellow Jackets (4-0) are off to their fastest start since 2000, but NA has yet to square off against a Class 4A foe ... The Jackets boast a balanced offensive attack. The running game features quarterback Lorenzo Hammonds (53 carries, 312 yards, seven touchdowns), Demarcus Rouse (49-305-1) and Vinny Miller (31-271-3). Hammonds is 45-for-68 passing for 685 yards and eight TDs. The top receivers are Matt Hazel (24-488-4) and Jesse Pernell (12-119-1) … The top hit man on defense is Montel Hughes, who has 44 tackles, two TFL and one sack.

Series history: North Augusta nipped the Silver Foxes 14-13 in last year’s Region 5-4A opener, snapping a five-game DF winning streak in the series. The Foxes still enjoy an overall 5-2 advantage vs. the Yellow Jackets.
