Blythewood, after all, has not played a postseason game since beating Timberland for the Class 3A state champion in its inaugural 2006 campaign. The road back to the playoffs begins on Friday … The Bengals attack features Brandon Wilds, who already has 895 yards and 10 touchdowns on the books. Wilds has a shot at becoming the first BHS running back to top the 1,000-yard mark … Quarterback Daniel Young is 51-for-87 passing for 682 yards and 11 touchdowns. Morgan Evans leads the team with 15 receptions, but the big-play receiver is Damar Hall, who is averaging 20.7 yards on 13 catches … Russell Taylor (36 tackles), Harrison Goins (35 tackles, 9 TFL, 2 sacks), Evan Lanford (33 tackles, 5 interceptions) and Curtis Hill (24 tackles, 12 TFL, 4 sacks) have been leaders on defense.
Spring Valley notes: Spring Valley was a “feel good” Midlands story early on, winning two of its first three games after dropping 22 of .the previous 23 outings. The Vikings, however, enter the Region 4-4A campaign with three straight losses against tough foes Irmo, Hartsville and Sumter … Markese Mason is the main man of the SV attack with 525 yards rushing and eight touchdowns. Young quarterback Austin Hill is 63-for-117 passing for 634 yards and three TDs. The top receiver is Leroy Coad, who has 21 grabs for 265 yards and two scores … Jaryall Parsons (56 tackles) and Trey Seals (47 tackles, 6 sacks) are top men on the defensive side.
