Richland NE notes: The Cavaliers (3-4, 3-0) kept pace with Irmo atop the Region 5-4A standings with a road win at Aiken last week, but it was far from an easy task. In fact, RNE needed a late rally to escape with the victory … Darius Polk’s 14-yard touchdown run and Daniel Passment’s PAT kick with 46 seconds remaining accounted for the decisive points, and La’Derrick Cohens’ interception at the RNE 35 with 20 seconds to go made it official … Quarterback Kersean Wilson directed the game-winning, 59-yard scoring drive. Wilson had runs of 14 and 13 yards before hitting Tyreque Romey with a clutch pass for an 18-yard gain on a third-and-16 play to the Aiken 14 with 46 seconds to go. Paulk scored on the following play … Wilson had 85 yards rushing and was 10-for-16 passing for 202 yards and one TD. Paulk had 78 yards rushing on 12 carries, but Cohens led all rushers in the game with 95 yards on 13 totes. DeJuan Williams had four catches for 89 yards, including a 40-yard scoring reception.
