Lexington boys get fresh 5-4A start tonight

After getting off to a 7-0 start, the Lexington boys basketball team closed out the December portion of the season by losing four of seven games, including their first two Region 5-4A contests.

The Wildcats (10-4, 0-2) will be looking to get back on track when they return to region action tonight at tonight at home against the 2-9 Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins. Lexington had a 2-2 showing last week at the 36th annual Kingdom of the Sun tournament in Florida.

Sophomore Shaq Roland has been the ‘Cats headliner so far, leading the the team in scoring (15.5 ppg) and rebounding (8.9 rpg). David Burns is averaging 8.8 points and 3.3 assists. Corey Hendron (8.8 ppg) and Matt Jergenson (6.0 rpg) have been other key contributors.
