Playoffs: Five Midlands girls players to watch

Jasmine Harrison, Lower Richland

As the senior leader for the defending champion Diamond Hornets, Harrison often is called to take charge. It's a task that suits her, because the point guard has a knack for forcing turnovers and making big plays. She averages 16.1 points per game.

Kim Roach, A.C. Flora

One of the state's preseason top five seniors, Roach has played all five positions for A.C. Flora. She leads the team in rebounding (4.6 per game) and scoring (15.5) and is a threat from baseline to baseline.

Janae Stevenson, Eau Claire

Eau Claire's 6-foot senior post player can carry the game on her shoulders. She averages 12.9 points and 7.8 rebounds and, with junior Eboni Ross, can forcefully cut off opponents' access to the lane.

Amelia Carrie, Eau Claire

Running the point, Carrie has established herself as Eau Claire's points generator. Carrie's speed in transition and perimeter shooting complement Stevenson's and Ross' efforts in the post, which is what makes the Shamrocks so powerful.

Asia Dozier, Spring Valley

Spring Valley's sophomore shooting guard has proven her worth to the Vikings many times. The team's leading scorer, Dozier is a sharp-shooter with solid ball-handing skills. In clutch situations, the ball is likely to be in her hands.
