Chapin returns four regulars off a team that enjoyed a successful volleyball season in 2009. The Eagles closed with a 15-6 record, finished second place in its region behind Lugoff-Elgin and was eliminated from the Class 3A playoffs in the second round by eventual state champion Daniel.
“I expect us to be competitive every game and to become a better team as the season progresses,” said coach Mary Jo Jenny.
“We have the talent to be really good, but a lot will ride on our determination to work harder every day.”
The returning cast features outside hitter Skyler Benson and Sara Jefferson, who both earned all-region recognition last season. Benson is a junior, while Jefferson is still just a sophomore. Senior setter McKenzie Monts and junior outside hitter Taylor Morgan round out the returning veteran cast. Freshman Becca Barton is a returning letter winners.
