Hammond’s girls tennis team sports a new-look starting lineup this fall in its quest to upgarde last season’s 5-7 record.
The Skyhawks return just two starting players from 2009 – junior Madelon Kneece and senior Caroline Harris. Kneece a SCISA All-Area pick last fall, posted a 9-2 individual record. Harris, one of three senior team captains, finished with an 8-3 mark.
Kneece will start at No. 5 singles, Harris at No. 6 in the SCISA format of six singles and three doubles spot per match.
Hammond will be young at the top with seventh-graders Maggie Herring and Carolina MacGillivray projected to open at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, followed by junior Ali Gray Deloache and sophomore Ann Elise Goudelock.
