The Irmo High swim team turned in a solid performance on Sunday at the Blue Devil Invitational meet hosted by Dreher at the USC Natatorium.
The Yellow Jackets posted a combined team score of 167 points, good for sixth place in the 16-team field. Irmo’s headlined the show with a fourth-place finish, while their male counterparts placed seventh.
Brooke Elias and Laine Huggins were the Irmo stars, each coming away with three medals.
Elias was the big winner for Irmo with a haul of three silver medals. She was second in the 100 backstroke and handled legs on the runner-up 200 medley and the 200 free relay teams. Elias just missed earning a fourth medal, but came one just a bit short in the 200 free (fourth place).

Huggins picked up a bronze in the 50 free and joined with Elias, Brittnee Hill and Brooke Hill on the two second-place relays. She also placed fifth in the 100 free. Brooke Hill had four Top 10 efforts. In addition to relay duty, scored in the 100 breaststroke (4th) and the 50 free (10th).
Alex Cram was the top performer on the boys side with four Top 10 efforts. Individually, Cram finished third in the backstroke and fifth in the 100 butterfly, and contributed in the 200 free and medley relays.
The 200 free quartet of Cram, Marquise Snipes, Zach Bane and Bradley Quarles picked up a silver medal for a second-place finish behind A.C. Flora.
