Here are some more highlights from the Blue Devil Invitational swim meet on Sunday at the USC poll:
The host Blue Devils finished in as tie for ninth place with White Knoll in the combined boys-girls standings, but Mia Hahn provided a much bigger highlight by coming away with two medals – the only Dreher entry to crack the top three spots in any individual event. Hahn was the winner in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:01.10. She finished second in the 100 butterfly in 1:02.06.

The Skyhawks girls finished sixth in the field of 15 teams, and came away with one gold medal, courtesy of the winning 200 medley relay team. Sydney Bland, Ann Gray Jumper, Kelly Presper and Dorian Green teamed up for a winning time of 2:01.85. Jumper was the other medal winner, bagging a silver prize for her second-place finish in the breaststroke.
The Silver Foxes finished seventh in the combined team standings, and a number of DF swimmers earned medals to standout performances. Annie Suarez, Conner Graham and Mary Pat Suarez were the team headliners. Annie Suarez claimed bronze medals with third-place finishes in the 200 individual medley and the breaststroke events. Graham had a productive day – striking silver in the 200 free, finishing fourth in the 100 backstroke and handling legs in two relay teams, including the third place 400 free relay. Mary at Suarez had a third-place effort in the butterfly. Anthony Jenkins, Ben Gustafson and Mason Cannon joined Graham on the bronze-medal relay team.
The Timberwolves tied for ninth place in the combined team standings with all but two of the points coming from the boys squad. Luke Sox paced the WK effort, earning a medal with a third-place finish in the 100 free and just missing the cut as a member of the fourth-place 200 free relay team.
The Demons had just one entry, but Rachel Castles made an impact in a number of ways. Oddly, she was entered in the shortest and longest freestyle races – a rare happenstance, indeed. She also rated a spot on the award stand with her second-place performance in the 500 free.
