Ridge View’s boys cross country team turned in a fine performance at the elite Wendy’s Invitational on Saturday in Charlotte, NC.
The Blazers, ranked No. 1 in Class 4A was the top South Carolina entry in the top-flight Invitational Division at the venerable event. Ridge View finished in fourth place with 214 points behind three North Carolina schools. Powerhouse Chapel Hill was the runaway winner, scoring 39 points and winning by a whopping 130-point margin.
Ridge View’s top three runners cracked the Top 35 list for times in all divisions. All three had national elite level times.
Freshman Mike Lantz and senior Joe Keitt set the pace for the Blazers. Lantz hit eh line first, placing 14th with a time of 15:57 – a personal record. Keitt wasn’t far off the pace, finishing 16th in 16:04. Senior David Jennings checked in 31st with a time of 16:14.

Seniors Raeven Lantz (55th, 16:40) and Jay Lynch (98th, 17:01) were the Blazers other scoring runners.
