Palmetto notes: The Mustangs (9-2) are enjoying their best season since 2002, and scored their first playoff win since 2005 last week – a 21-14 decision vs. Emerald Palmetto relies heavily on the ground game, but QB Hunter Green tossed two scoring passes to Dominique Mosley last week. Owens posted 117 yards and one scoring run last week ve. Emerald.
Playoff history: Columbia sports a 16-20 playoff record in the modern era, while Palmetto is 14-16. The Mustangs have made it past the second round just two times since 1970, the last time in 2003. Palmetto won the 1970 Class 3A state championship. Columbia has not advanced to a state title game in the modern era.
