Blythewood opened the 21st annual International Paper Classic baseball tournament with a 5-1 win over Dorman Thursday at Mike Johnson Park in Georgetown.
Tyler Eubanks tossed a complete game five-hitter, while Thomas Bessinger and Brandon Burris were the offensive headliners.
Eubanks struck out nine and issues no walks en route to the mound decision. The only Dorman run came on a solo home run in the sixth inning by which time the Bengals already had a 5-0 lead.
Bessinger got Blythewood on the board with a solo homer in the top of the third, and later scored in the fifth and sixth innings. Burris went 4-for-4 and drove in one run. Spencer Branham contributed a two-run double in the fifth inning for what proved to be the game-winning hit.
