The rain-marred Nike Palmetto Cup soccer tournament resumes Friday with a full slate of matches at three sites, but the only matches that matter in the championship equation take place at The Cage.
The three matches at the Brookland-Cayce stadium feature the only 2-0 teams in the field – Myrtle Beach vs. Farragut, TN (5 p.m.); Wando vs. Seneca (6:45 p.m.) and Brookland-Cayce vs. Walhalla (8:30 p.m.).
Myrtle Beach, the No. 1 ranked team in Class 3A, has 19 tournament points on the books after beating Lexington 4-2 on Thursday. Wando, ranked No. 1 in 4A, nipped Cardinal Newman on Thursday and has 17 tournament points. Host B-C edged Gaffney 3-2 on Thursday and has 18 Cup points.
Saturday’s revamped schedule features a third-place game at 4 p.m. at The Cage followed by the championship match at 6 p.m.
