Tevin Mack wasted no time starting his college career.
Mack, the former Dreher High star who pledged to Texas less than a month ago, already is in Austin for the first semester. Mack’s mother Paula said Monday that her son enrolled for the semester on June 7 and is enjoying the ride thus far.
“He likes it,” Mack said. “He’s getting used to conditioning and weight-training. The only thing he’s having to really adjust to is getting around, because the campus is so wide.”
Mack is one of three four-star recruits in Shaka Smart’s first recruiting class with the Longhorns. He committed to Texas on May 19 and was on his way across the country soon after.
Paula Mack didn’t head to Texas with her son but will see him soon enough. Mack will return home for the July 4 holiday before heading back to Austin for the second summer semester.
