South Carolina still is in the mix for Dutch Fork’s Bryce Thompson, and the Gamecocks will get one of his official visits.
At practice Monday, Thompson plans to visit the Gamecocks either in November and December. The senior has been to a couple of USC home games this year as well as camps over the summer.
Thompson said Marshall and Georgia State also will get official visits. He plans to visit the Thundering Herd sometime in December and isn’t sure when he will visit GSU, which is coached by former USC assistant Shawn Elliott.
The receiver/running back hears from Gamecocks and Marshall every other day.
Washington State also might get an official visit from Thompson, who hopes to enroll early at whatever school he chooses.
Thompson is having a big senior season for Dutch Fork, which hosts Spring Valley on Friday for the Region 5-5A title. The 6-foot, 180-pounder was moved to running back after starter Ron Hoff was injured.
The Shrine Bowl selection has three straight 100-yard rushing games, has 717 yards total offense and has 20 total touchdowns.
