Carl Edwards, who raised the ire of NASCAR fans and media for his apparent disgust with Roush Fenway Racing teammate Greg Biffle in last weekend’s race at Michigan, said there was a miscommunication between the drivers.
Edwards and his crew chief Jimmy Fennig were upset Biffle would not assist Edwards in clearing debris from the front grille of his car, but it was in regards to a request on Lap 70 of the 200-lap race not the one which came with 35 laps remaining.
Edwards said Friday “he completely understood” why Biffle would not adhere to the request late in the race when he was in the lead.

The seventh annual Jimmie Johnson Foundation golf tournament and dinner auction raised more than $600,000. Proceeds from the tournament will be distributed to schools through the foundation’s Lowe’s Toolbox for Education Champions Grants program.
Johnson and his wife Chandra hosted more than 100 golfers at The Grand Del Mar in San Diego. A dinner and live auction were held Wednesday evening.

KHI currently handles management for owner Kevin Harvick, Cerrone, NASCAR driver Jeff Burton and Jason Gore in the PGA.
Papis enters Truck race
Road course specialist Max Papis will drive the No. 14 Chevrolet for NTS Motorsports in the Truck series debut on Sept. 1 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
