Panthers Cam Newton and girlfriend Kia Proctor share photos of new son, reveal a name

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton and his longtime girlfriend Kia Proctor have shared the first photos of their new child on social media -- and finally revealed his name.

Proctor posted four images of Camidas Swain Newton on her Instagram page Thursday. She offered no comments, but thousands of fans stepped in with compliments and 8,700 likes on the post.

The boy was born in July, according to the Charlotte Observer. The couple have an older son, Chosen Sebastian Newton, who turns 3 on Christmas Eve, and a daughter, Sovereign-Dior Cambella Newton, born in February 2017.

Newton is also co-parenting Proctor’s daughter, 11-year-old Shakira, from a previous relationship, according to the celebrity gossip site Madamenoire.com.

Newton is well-known for not posting much about his personal life on social media, other than his outlandish clothing preferences and charitable work.

Among the rare exceptions have been holiday family portraits and a 2017 Facebook photo of him kissing son Chosen.

In December, the Carolina Panthers posted a Christmas Eve video of his son Chosen dancing with Newton at the team’s offices, and it got more than 2 million views on Twitter and Instagram.

Newton told 247.Sports in a Nov. 28 story that being a father of four has changed the way he acts at press conferences, something he has been criticized for in the past. (The team is currently in a three-game losing streak.)

“I see a lot of how I act, they see it, and they think it’s acceptable,” Newton was quoted saying. “So even though it’s hard for me, I realize that I have an obedience to be there for my children and teach them life lessons. And what better way to teach them life lessons (than) when ... things don’t go your way?”
