Columbia to be invaded by Trolls in 2020, tickets set to go on sale

Troll are coming to Columbia next year.

The popular children’s characters will embark on their first live tour, which will include multiple performances at Colonial Life Arena.

The “Trolls LIVE!” tour will stop in Columbia for five shows, from June 19-21, arena officials said in a news release Tuesday.

The performances will be “jam-packed with epic music, glitter, humor and happiness,” according to the release, as kids and their families can follow along on the adventure.

“The extravaganza utilizes the latest in scenic projection, puppetry, media technology and features a host of special effects and interactive surprises,” the release said.

There will be one 6 p.m. performance on June 19, followed by two shows on June 20 (10 a.m., 2 p.m.) and June 21 (noon, 4 p.m.).

Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Dec. 20, and can be purchased at ticketmaster.com, TrollsLIVE.com or at the box office at Colonial Life Arena. Prices start at $22 for tickets, according to arena officials.

The “Trolls LIVE!” tour is being put on by Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, which will also bring its “Crystal” production to Colonial Life Arena in July.

Troll Dolls are a popular line of children’s toys that were revitalized in 2016 when they were the stars of an animated film voiced by Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick. A sequel, “Trolls World Tour,” will be released on April 17, 2020.
