West Columbia music festival returns for 2nd straight year. Here’s who’s playing
A musical block party is returning to West Columbia for a second year in a row.
Following last year’s festival, Meeting Street Music Fest returns Friday, Sept. 6, and Saturday, Sept. 7, with a slate of new musical acts that will run up and down one of West Columbia’s main drags.
“This year’s festival promises to be an unforgettable experience, featuring multiple genres of music and two days of FREE entertainment,” West Columbia said in a news release about the festivities.
The show begins Friday night with bluegrass act Nu-Blu performing at the Riverwalk Amphitheater, the classic rock/country cover band the Gaspumpers performing at Savage Craft Ale Works, and the soulful grooves of Jamie Wright and Rod Foster and Company at Chayz Lounge.
The party continues Saturday afternoon and evening at three main stages along Meeting Street. Headlining acts will include the throwback rock of War, the improvisational sounds of George Fetner and the Strays, and the mandolin of Nick Chandler and Delivered, all between the 500 and 700 blocks of Meeting Street.
The Saturday concerts will coincide with an artisan market, food trucks, eating and drinking venues and, because it’s football season in South Carolina, three viewing areas for watching the day’s college games.
Free parking will be available at various spots surrounding the festival area.
