Hugh and Audrey McIntosh of Columbia recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married April 26, 1957, in Laurel, Mississippi.

They met in in 1950, in junior high school in Laurel, Mississippi. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, and she took a job in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They both took an Easter vacation in 1957 and went home to Laurel. Since both families were there, they decided to get married.

He stayed in the service for 21 years, and she worked for USAF Civil Service. After retirement, they joined a mission organization and traveled extensively. After living in Southern California for 28 years, they sold their home and relocated to South Carolina in 2001.

They have six children: Phyllis (Edward) Smith of Wirral, England; Terry (Duane) Zigan of Wisconsin; the late Glen (Teresa) McIntosh of Nevada; Roy (Lisa) McIntosh of Gilbert; and Kay Alarcon and Paula (Mike) Argent, both of California. They have 18 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren scattered throughout the United States and Europe.

A small drop-in honored the couple April 27 in the fellowship hall of Living Word Assembly of God Church in Lexington.
