A Swansea woman picking up a pizza for her family also brought home a $50,000 lottery ticket, the South Carolina Education Lottery said.

The pizza in hand, the woman stopped at the Rainbow Gas Garden at 100 N. Church St. in Swansea to buy a couple of $2 Jumbo Bucks scratch-off lottery tickets.

“I don’t play a lot, and I didn’t scratch the tickets right away,” she told lottery officials.

After her family ate the pizza, the woman scratched off the tickets and discovered one had a top prize of $50,000. The odds of winning the game are one in 600,000.

“I didn’t believe it, and my family didn’t believe it either,” she said.

The woman, whose name was not released, plans to save the prize money, the lottery said.

The Rainbow Gas Garden received a commission of $500 for selling the winning ticket.
