Search ends for missing South Carolina woman who hadn’t been seen in over a month
A search for a missing Midlands woman who’s without her medication ended Sunday.
Shannon Pelletz was “found and is alive and well,” the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office said on social media at 9:05 a.m. Sunday. Information about when and where Pelletz was found was not available.
Pelletz was publicly reported missing by the sheriff’s office on Feb. 27. The 22-year-old had not been seen for more than a month, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
Pelletz was last seen Feb. 4 at Lighthouse Baptist Church, according to the release. That’s in Sumter, not far from the intersection of S.C. 40 and Patriot Parkway.
She was reported missing to law enforcement Feb. 26, the sheriff’s office said.
There was no word if Pelletz was alone when she was found. The sheriff’s office did not say if foul play was suspected in Pelletz’ disappearance.
The missing woman was without her medication and Pelletz’ family was very concerned, according to the release. Further information on her medical condition was not available.
