Police ‘sadly’ report end to search for missing South Carolina man

A day after police reported a South Carolina man missing, his body was found in pond, according to the Kershaw County Coroner’s Office.

Harrison Radden, a 24-year-old Camden resident, was identified as the person whose body was recovered from a pond in the Sunny Hill subdivision, Coroner David West said Monday. Radden was last seen alive in the Sunny Hill area, according to the Camden Police Department.

Radden’s body was found at about 5 p.m. Sunday, according to West.

The coroner said that law enforcement had been looking for Radden since Friday afternoon.

Radden was publicly reported missing Saturday by police. When he was reported missing, police said Radden was considered “an endangered missing person.”

Information about why Radden was considered to be in danger was not available.

Both police and the coroner said no foul play is suspected in Radden’s death.

No cause or manner of death have been announced, but West said an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday, and he’s hopeful that will bring more clarity to the investigation, which remains ongoing.

During a phone interview with The State, West said suicide is not suspected.

“We extend our deepest condolences to Mr. Radden’s family, friends, and loved ones during this time of profound loss,” police said in a news release. “Our thoughts remain with them as they navigate this difficult period.”
