Columbia, SC native set to host ABC’s long-running newsmagazine, Inside Edition
A Columbia, S.C., native is next in line to host a long-running newsmagazine on ABC. She’ll be only the fourth person to do it in the nearly 40-year history of the show.
Eva Pilgrim, 42, will serve as the next host of ABC’s Inside Edition, following Deborah Norville, who left the show in May after 30 years, according to a news release. Pilgrim, a graduate of the University of South Carolina, previously co-anchored on a segment of Good Morning America and served as an ABC News senior national correspondent in New York.
“Anchoring INSIDE EDITION is truly a dream job,” Pilgrim said in a news release. “I have been an avid viewer and fan of the show for many years. I’m pinching myself that I get to work with this amazing team. It’s truly an honor to join a show with such a long, rich history.”
Pilgrim will take to the anchor’s chair as Inside Edition launches its 38th season on Sept. 8. The syndicated newsmagazine reportedly reaches nearly 10 million weekly viewers, according to the release.
