2 shootings, 3 injured in Richland County overnight

Three men were shot in two separate incidents late Friday night and early Saturday morning in Richland County.

Richland County sheriff’s deputies are searching for suspects in both shootings that sent three men to the hospital with gunshot injuries.

The first overnight shooting happened just before midnight at the Austin Woods apartment complex at 7648 Garners Ferry Road. Deputies say a man stepped outside to talk to an acquaintance when the acquaintance shot him multiple times in the upper body. The victim was taken to the hospital.

Several hours later, around 6:30 a.m. Saturday, deputies responded to a shooting on Silver Oak Circle in the Meadowlake subdivision. Two men were shot in the upper body and taken to the hospital.

Deputies gave no indication that there was any connection between the shootings.

Investigators are searching for suspects.
