A man was shot in a motel and there’s a hunt for his killer, SC cops say
A South Carolina man was killed Friday night in a shooting at a motel and a search is underway for the person who pulled the trigger, Orangeburg County officials said.
Samson Green, a 34-year-old Orangeburg resident, is the person who died, according to Orangeburg County Coroner Sean Fogle.
At about 8:30 p.m. Friday, deputies responded to a call about a shooting at the Crown Inn motel, the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office said. That’s on Bamberg Highway in Orangeburg.
Deputies found Green, who had been shot and died at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
There was no word about a shooter or shooters, or anyone else involved in the gunfire. Information about a possible motive for the shooting was not available.
No arrests have been reported, but the shooting continues to be investigated by the sheriff’s office and coroner’s office. An autopsy is scheduled for next week, Fogle said.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 803-534-3550, CrimeStoppers at 888-CRIME-SC or submit a tip online.
“If one has any information on this, we are asking they call us,” Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said Saturday in a news release. “We want to get anyone involved behind bars.”
