Calling all pets! Cadbury is looking for the star of its next Easter commercial
Sure you love your pet, but does your furry companion have a little something extra?
If you think your pet is star material, Cadbury wants to hear from you.
The chocolate company is looking for the new star of its Cadbury Clucking Bunny Easter commercial, according to a news release.
Last year, an English Bulldog named Henri from North Carolina beat out 4,000 hopefuls to don bunny ears in the iconic Creme Egg commercial that declares, “While others may keep trying, no bunny knows Easter better than Cadbury.”
If you want your pet to follow in Henri’s footsteps, submit a photo of your furry friend between now and Feb. 24, the release says.
Judges will choose their favorites then ask owners to submit video footage of their pets. From there, judges — with the help of Instagram-famous Pomeranian Jiffpom — will choose 10 finalists, according to the release.
America will then vote on its favorite.
The winning pet will need to have some acting chops: namely, being able to stay fairly still while wearing bunny ears, Cadbury says.
In addition to starring in the commercial, the winning pet will receive $5,000. Cadbury will also donate $10,000 to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the release said.
The new star will be announced on March 19.
“The Cadbury Clucking Bunny commercial has been a perennial Easter-favorite for over thirty years,” Ethan Mandel, associate brand manager, said in the release. “After last year’s newest edition, featuring Henri the bulldog, and the overwhelming positive feedback we’ve received, we decided to bring back the Bunny Tryouts. But this year we’ve added a new voting component that will drive additional excitement.”
