A 34-year-old man and his dad were working on a tire when it exploded, Minnesota deputies said.

The son, a father of four, was killed and his dad was injured in Lake City, according to a June 24 news release from the Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office and a GoFundMe for the family.

The pair was identified as Joshua Moechnig Jr. and Joshua Moechnig Sr., deputies said.

The incident was described as a “tragic farming accident,” by loved ones on a GoFundMe page.

“Josh was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, brother, friend, and hardworking farmer,” according to the GoFundMe. “He leaves behind his incredible wife, Heather, and their four beautiful children, including a newborn baby just one month old.”

Lake City is about a 70-mile drive southeast from Minneapolis.
