An adorable-faced black dog is in search of a new and loving home after being taken back to a Texas shelter from which she was originally adopted.

Meet Mikah, a darling who is barely older than a puppy and is a familiar face around the South Plains Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in Lubbock — but only because she’s been there before.

“Mikah was adopted back in November but has been surrendered back to us due to no fault of her own,” the shelter said in an Aug. 18 Facebook post. “She is very loving and always excited to see you when you come home and curious.”

Mikah is also a huge fan of water cookies — or what people usually call ice chips.

“If you have never had a dog who enjoys ice, well now you do! Mikah loves for you too throw ice down for her so she can play with it across the floor,” the shelter says.

As for larger pets in the household, she seems to doubt herself a bit.

“Mikah is still a little unsure about other big dogs but is very submissive and just wants to be excepted, however Mikah can be very pushy especially with smaller doggos and cats, but what puppy isn’t?” the shelter asks.

“Treats are recognized as ‘bite bites’ which she loves, so if you’re not ready to spend a lot of money on snacks then keep it moving.”

She also has other loves in her life, like toys and a very dark crate.

“Mikah also loves her squeaky toys, so anything without a squeak will be no interest there, car rides and walks are also a given as she also loves those so looking for an active family!” the shelter notes.

“At night time her crate must be covered as she thinks it’s her safe space and loves for it to be dark.”

Lubbock is about a 315-mile drive northwest from Fort Worth.
