Sprawling North Carolina equestrian farm gets ready to hit auction block. Take a look

A property that was once known for “producing world-class Arabian and show horses” is getting set to go on the auction block in North Carolina, a news release said.

Butler Farm, a 350-acre equestrian farm with an 11,000-square-foot owner’s residence, two-story main barn, halter-schooling barn, training arena, breeding barn and two regulation-sized riding arenas and more, will be sold to the highest bidder on Nov. 12.

The main home is a model of elegance with 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.

“A soaring, two-story foyer boasts Emperador Turkish marble flooring and a gracefully curving staircase,” the auction listing describes. “A parlor, formal dining room, and large living room with doors to the rear terrace are adjacent to the foyer, and the estate’s main level also hosts a lavish bedroom suite.

With sitting area and spa-like bath featuring floor-to-ceiling marble, a luxurious spa tub flanked by gorgeous stained-glass windows, and a dramatic fireplace, the suite truly is a sanctuary: the perfect place to retire after a day on the farm.”

But it’s really the equestrian amenities that take center stage on the property. The barn, which is close to 26,000 square feet, has 66 horse stalls, office space on the lower level, guest apartments and a banquet room.

According to the news release, the owners of the property were asking $8 million but the farm is now going to auction without reserve.

Butler Farm is about 80 miles south of Raleigh.
