T-Rob becomes South Carolina’s newest million-dollar man

South Carolina defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson became South Carolina’s first million-dollar football assistant after USC approved across-the-board raises for the staff Friday.

He’ll make $1.2 million a year across a three-year contact. Fifteen college football assistants made more than a million last season, and LSU’s $2.5 million a year deal for Dave Aranda was another step forward for spending on that front.

Bryan McClendon, now the full-time offensive coordinator, went from making $500,000 annually to $650,000.

New quarterbacks coach Dan Werner will begin his USC tenure at $500,000 a year.

Kyle Krantz, announced as USC’s 10th on-field assistant coach, will make $125,000. Krantz was making $100,000 in his previous role as a defensive analyst for the Gamecocks.
