It’s official! Dylan Wonnum joins his brother on the Gamecocks
Four-star offensive lineman recruit Dylan Wonnum is officially set to join his brother D.J. at South Carolina, signing his letter of intent to play with the Gamecocks on Wednesday morning.
Wonnum announced his decision this past Saturday on social media, ending one of the last recruiting races USC has been involved in for the class of 2018. In addition to South Carolina, he also considered Tennessee and Auburn.
A few things put USC over the top for the younger Wonnum, a 6-foot-5, 300-pound Under Armour All-American:
▪ the chance to play alongside his brother, star pass rusher D.J. Wonnum;
▪ the chance to play one of his teammates at Tucker High, wide receiver and fellow South Carolina signee Josh Vann;
▪ as well as the opportunity to play right away.
South Carolina confirmed Wonnum’s signing early Wednesday. He’ll have a ceremony at his school later in the morning.
Wonnum is rated by 247Sports Composite rankings as the 148th best player in his class and the 12th best at his position. He is the second-highest rated recruit in USC’s class thus far, behind only Vann.
