Columbia TV station says reporters injured in Charlotte protests
A photographer and a weekend anchor from Columbia television station WLTX were injured while covering violent protests in Charlotte on Wednesday, the station reported.
Anchor Mary Sturgill, who is also a reporter for the station, tweeted that she was at Charlotte’s Presbyterian Hospital after she was tackled and chief photographer Eric Alkire were hurt.
@Photog20WLTX and I are at Presbyterian Hospital in downtown Charlotte. After he was punched and I was tackled by agitators.

In an on-air report, the station said some of its equipment was damaged, as well.
Sturgill and Alkire were treated on the scene, then taken to the hosptial for additional treatment. Sturgill tweeted again early Thursday.

Earlier in the evening, Sturgill broadcast some of the protests over Facebook Live.
