Lexington police looking for Augusta Road bank robbery suspect

Lexington police are looking for a suspect accused of robbing the SC State Credit Union on Augusta Road Wednesday afternoon.

The suspect entered the SC State Credit Union at 5438 Augusta Road around 2:48 p.m. Wednesday and demanded money after stating it was a robbery, Lt. Carroll W. Bledsoe Jr., a department spokesman, said.

No weapon was presented or seen, Bledsoe said. The suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a younger white male, possibly in his twenties, Bledsoe said. He is approximately five feet, eight inches tall with a slender build. Investigators believe he fled in a newer model Dodge, possibly a Charger.

Anyone with information should call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
