SC House Democratic leader backs Clinton in presidential primary

Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton picked up another endorsement from a S.C. House leader Wednesday.

House Minority Leader Todd Rutherford, D-Richland, announced he’s backing Clinton at the State House.

"Everyday, I see the reality of lives torn apart by a broken criminal justice system,” the Columbia attorney said.

“We need Hillary Clinton in the Oval Office to protect President Obama's progress on law enforcement accountability and reforms to the justice system – we can't afford to move backwards.”

Clinton has announced endorsements from more than two dozen Democratic state lawmakers.
