South Carolina baseball makes big jump in national polls
South Carolina made major moves in the national polls after sweeping Ole Miss on the road this past weekend to improve to 6-0 in the SEC.
The Gamecocks (23-2) jumped into the top 5 in the D1Baseball.com rankings, going from No. 14 to No. 5, and in the Collegiate Baseball poll, jumping from No. 13 to No. 2.
USC also moved into the top 10 in several polls, moving from No. 18 to No. 7 in the Baseball America poll and No. 19 to No. 8 in the Perfect Game poll.
At 6-0 in the SEC, South Carolina is off to its best start ever in SEC play. The Gamecocks also have a two-game lead in the SEC standings.
Carolina returns home to face College of Charleston on Tuesday before traveling to Vanderbilt for a series from Thursday-Saturday.
The Commodores are ranked in the top 10 in every major poll.
