South Carolina just offered a freshman who could be the country’s top quarterback
Buford High School (Ga.) quarterback Aaron McLaughlin was a big name before he even earned the chance to start as a freshman.
Now South Carolina football has joined several Power 5 programs who’ve offered him before his sophomore season even begins.
McLaughlin tweeted he’s received a Gamecocks offer, joining those from Southern Cal, Ole Miss, Florida State and UCLA. Already 6-foot-5, 215 pounds, he helped lead Buford to a 11-2 record.

Many of his offers came before he even reached high school.
QB guru Steve Clarkson told Scout.com "He might be the most gifted young quarterback I've seen. He's so advanced at a young age and is a very mature kid as well. When people see him throw and then find out how young he is, they can't believe it. He's a prodigy, everyone can see that. ... I'll tell you who he reminds me of, a young John Elway.”
