Tiffany Mitchell started and scored a game-high 18 points in her WNBA debut Saturday night for the Indiana Fever.

Mitchell was selected No. 9 by the Fever in last month’s WNBA Draft. She played almost 32 minutes in the Fever’s 90-79 loss to the Dallas Wings. She finished 7-of-10 shooting, including 2-of-3 from 3-point range, and scored 16 points in the first half.

Indiana hosts the Phoenix Mercury on Wednesday. Mitchell, who is from Charlotte will be back close to home on May 29 when the Fever visits Atlanta.

The two-time SEC Player of the Year finished her college career with a school record for starts (139) and was part of a group of seniors who won a record 121 games in four years. Mitchell scored 1,885 points, fifth on the career chart, and was second in 3-point and free-throw percentage.
