Winter Jam, a Christian music tour, is headed back to Columbia next year, headlined by Christian rock group Skillet and artist Tauren Wells.

The concert is scheduled for Feb. 25 at Colonial Life Arena.

Skillet, a Christian rock band formed in 1996 in Tennessee, is best known for their songs “Whispers in the Dark,” “Hero” and “Monster.” Two of the band’s albums, Comatose and Awake, were certified platinum and double platinum respectively.

Skillet’s Columbia appearance is scheduled for about a month after the band releases its new album “Dominion.”

“We are beyond excited to play Winter Jam again,”Skillet’s John Cooper said in a statement. “Due to the times we are living in, I think Winter Jam will have more energy, more passion and will be more encouraging than ever before. We’ll be playing new songs from our upcoming record, Dominion, and some of the old fan favorites too.”

Tauren Wells is an American Christian pop-rock and R&B artist, as well as a worship leader in Houston. Most recently, Wells won contemporary recorded song of the year at the 2021 Gospel Music Association Dove Music Awards for his song “Famous for.”

Skillet and Wells will be joined by other performers like KB, Colton Dixon, I Am They and NewSong.

No tickets are required for the event, but attendees are asked to donate $10 at the door, according to a statement about the event.

However, fans who want an enhanced experience can pay $34.99 for a Jam Nation Membership, which will get them early admission, an artist Q&A, a merchandise coupon, a commemorative pass and a lanyard. They will also get a backstage tour and a meet and greet with Skillet, as well as a reserved seat in the front row section.
