‘The King of Queens’ is coming to Columbia for a comedy show

“The King of Queens” is coming to Columbia.

Kevin James, who rose to fame playing the lead character on the CBS sitcom, will bring his comedy tour to South Carolina’s capital early next year.

James is scheduled to perform at the Township Auditorium on Feb. 11, 2023, venue officials said Monday.

Tickets are set to go on sale to the public Friday for the Columbia stop on James’ “The Irregardless Tour.” There will be a presale on Wednesday, according to ticketmaster.com.

Ticket prices, minus any fees, range from $35 to $101, according to the Township Auditorium website.

The performance at the Township Auditorium will be James’ second tour stop in South Carolina, following a Feb. 4 date at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center.

The comedian also is scheduled to play Harrah’s Cherokee Center in Asheville on Feb. 2.

James was nominated for an Emmy award for portraying Doug Heffernan on “The King of Queens” from 1998 to 2007. He’s also starred in the hit films “Hitch,” “Paul Blart: Mall Cop” and “Grown Ups,” among other movies.
