James Van Der Beek's Wife Kimberly Shares Tribute 3 Months After His Death

Three months after the death of James Van Der Beek, his wife Kimberly is remembering her husband with a heartfelt tribute.

In an Instagram post on May 12, Kimberly reflected on the loss of the "Dawson's Creek" star, who died at 48 on Feb. 11 following a battle with stage 3 colorectal cancer.

"Yesterday was three months since we lost @vanderjames," she shared alongside photos of James with her and the couple's six children.

"To say I’m heartbroken is a severe understatement," she added. "Words just don’t capture what grief is. The comforts of shock have worn off. The reality is settling in … and I miss him. We all miss him."

"Yet, there is a different kind of magic in the air. I feel him. I know him more deeply," she continued. "My conscious connection to God has deepened. The veils of the universe have thinned. And I trust that this is the path me and my family have always been intended to walk."

Kimberly went to thank fans for their support following James' death, saying, "The outpouring of support has been tremendous."

"It’s held our family in the most beautiful of ways," she concluded. "You all went absolutely above and beyond anything I could have ever expected in supporting us and honoring James. I am deeply grateful. There is so much more to share here. And in time- I will."

The post drew supportive comments from several celebrity friends.

"❤️🕊️ Flying high and watching over," Olivia Munn shared while Nikki Reed added, "Wrapping my arms around you and those beautiful babies❤️ I love you so much🙏🏼❤️"

"Love and adore you so much @vanderkimberly," James' former "Dancing with the Stars" partner Emma Slater wrote.

On Feb. 11, Kimberly announced James' death on social media, writing, "Our beloved James David Van Der Beek passed peacefully this morning."

"He met his final days with courage, faith, and grace," she shared alongside a photo of the late actor. "There is much to share regarding his wishes, love for humanity, and the sacredness of time. Those days will come."

"For now, we ask for peaceful privacy as we grieve our loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend," she concluded.
