Nancy Guthrie Update: Sheriff's Office Speaks Out About Another Kidnapping Case Just Miles From Nancy's Home
The Pima County Sheriff's Department is working not one, but two kidnapping cases.
Four months after Nancy Guthrie went missing from her home in Arizona, authorities say they are looking for a woman named Coral Michelle Smith who is "wanted on kidnapping and assault charges involving an unidentified female victim," according to Fox News Digital's Mike Ruiz.
This particular kidnapping case occurred about seven miles from Guthrie's home in the Catalina Foothills.
In a new update posted by Ruiz on Wednesday, June 10, the Pima County Sheriff's Department has confirmed that the to cases are not related.
"This is not connected to the Guthrie investigation," a spokesperson for the Pima County Sheriff's Department said.

In a subsequent update, Ruiz confirmed that the female victim in the case had been located. At the time of this writing, the victim's name had not been released. It's also unclear if the victim knew the suspect.
Meanwhile, an investigation into Guthrie's disappearance is still ongoing. Guthrie, 84, has been missing since Sunday, Feb. 1. Authorities believe that she was abducted from her home in the middle of the night, some time after she was dropped off at home by her son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni.
The FBI has released footage of a possible suspect who appeared on Guthrie's front stoop the night she went missing. Despite receiving thousands of tips, that person has not yet been identified.
Anyone with information on either of the cases mentioned above should call Tucson's 88-Crime hotline at 1-520-882-7463.
