‘The Social Reckoning' First Look Turns Heads With Its Stellar Cast

Sixteen years after the release of biographical drama, “The Social Network,” Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg‘s story gets a new take in the upcoming drama, “The Social Reckoning.”

Now the first look of the film has dropped on Wednesday, and it is turning heads for all the right reasons.

Directed by Aaron Sorkin, “The Social Reckoning” features a stellar cast that includes the likes of Emmy winning actor Jeremy Allen White and Oscar winner Mikey Madison. Jeremy Strong is stepping into the role of Zuckerberg, which was previously played by Jesse Eisenberg in “The Social Network.”

While the previous film focused on the birth of Facebook, the companion film is reportedly focusing on the 2021 whistleblowing case of Facebook.

Madison is portraying the role of engineer Frances Haugen, who leaked thousands of Facebook’s closely guarded documents to the Wall Street Journal in 2021. The upcoming drama also stars Wunmi Mosaku, Betty Gilpin, Billy Magnussen, and Bill Burr in other pivotal roles.

Slated for an Oct. 9 release, the film is produced by Columbia Pictures, Alcon Entertainment, The Gotham Group in association of Escape Artists, while Sony Pictures Releasing is in charge of distribution.

As soon as the first look dropped, fans took to the social media to gush about the stacked cast of the film.

One fan commented, “Jeremy Strong, Jeremy Allen White, and Mikey Madison is an absurdly stacked cast for a tech drama.”

“this pairing is actually really interesting. jeremy allen white and mikey madison in a story like this feels like it could be really intense and grounded, especially with that kind of whistleblower angle,” added someone else.

Another fan chimed in, “White as the WSJ reporter and Madison as Haugen? Sorkin going full whistleblower mode. This is gonna slap.”

“Jeremy Allen White and Mikey Madison is a seriously strong casting combo,” shared their opinion a social media user eager for the film.

Someone else noted, “That cast is actually stacked 🔥 if the writing is half as good as the original, this could be serious cinema again.”

Another netizen hypothesized, “Imagine if we get an Andrew Garfield cameo like in no way home.”

Apart from praising the cast, the Internet was also left blown by Strong’s catchy portrayal of Zuckerberg, specially his poignant delivery of the dialogue - "I'm not two years out of a dorm room anymore Charlie!" This lone statement is proof enough that Facebook has grown, and it is no longer the social media site we saw get born in the 2000s. The site has now grown, and so are problems related to it.
