Columbia viewers who tune into ETV’s South Carolina Channel on Saturday night will see some familiar sights.

TV host Darley Newman explores the city with locals as her guides in “Travels with Darley,” airing at 5 p.m. Saturday.

In the episode, Newman, who grew up in Myrtle Beach, spends the morning in Five Points sipping a latte at Drip, followed by shopping at 2G’s Clothing and lunch at The Gourmet Shop. There’s also a visit to the Woodrow Wilson House & Gardens, Sweet Cream Company on Main Street, One Eared Cow Glass in the Vista and Southern Belly BBQ on Rosewood Drive.

The show filmed the episode in August, said Five Points Association Executive Director Amy Beth Franks, who led Newman on a tour through Five Points.

“It was really great because they were able to capture the vibrancy of Five Points so easily,” Franks said. “It was this great representation of the city and will be a wonderful episode.”

The show came to Columbia due to a partnership with the Midlands Authority on Conventions, Sports and Tourism. The episode also includes locations in Maryland and Virginia, according to Andrea Mensink, director of communications for Midlands Authority.

If you miss “Travels With Darley” Saturday, you can catch it at 7 p.m. Feb. 26 on ETV.
