SC represents in James Beard awards
South Carolina is representing in the James Beard Foundation awards finalists list, which was released on Tuesday.
Sean Brock, the chef who created Husk restaurant in Charleston, is a finalist for outstanding chef.
Brock’s cookbook, “Heritage,” also was named a finalist for best cookbook.
The ETV produced documentary series, “A Chef’s Life,” also was nominated for outstanding TV program. Vivian Howard, the chef who moved to North Carolina from New York City to open The Chef & The Farmer, also was nominated for best host.
Jason Stanhope, FIG, Charleston was nominated for outstanding chef in the Southeast. FIG also was nominated for best wine program.
McCrady’s restaurant in Charleston was nominated for best wine program.
