WATCH IT: Tina Fey returns to SNL for one long Sarah Palin-is-crazy joke

You pretty much knew “Saturday Night Live” was going to get Tina Fey back this weekend to play Sarah Palin. With Palin’s big return to the news in endorsing Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump, the possibilities were endless.

And in the end, SNL went with old faithful. They recreated Fey/Palin’s meandering and at-times-nonsensical Iowa endorsement speech and let Trump (played by Darrell Hammond) offer his commentary throughout.

The commentary almost always went back to one thing: Palin is crazy.

“It’s like her mouth starts driving before her brain gets in the car,” he says one time.

“She’s a firecracker. She’s a a real pistol. She’s crazy, isn’t she?” he says later.

“I hope nobody’s allergic to nuts, because we got a big one here,” he adds. “She’s two Corinthians short of a Bible.”

SNL’s portrayal of Palin has always been an unflattering one, but this time it felt a little more so than usual. Either that, or it’s just been that long.
