Some of the biggest stars in hip hop will take the stage at Colonial Life Arena next year for a concert.

The “Millennium Tour 2020” will make a stop in Columbia on April 12, arena officials said Monday in a news release.

The headliners of the concert are rap icons Omarion and Bow Wow, who will “face off,” according to promoters.

But the bill is loaded with some of the top performers in hip hop music over the past 20 years, including Ashanti, Ying Yang Twins, Lloyd, Sammie, Pretty Ricky and Soulja Boy, according to arena officials.

Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. and can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com and in person at the Colonial Life Arena box office.

“2020 is my 20th year entertaining. Blood, Sweat & Tears. Always giving you the best that I got. Thank you for growing with me,” Omarion said in the release. He’s known for hit songs “Post to Be,” and “Ice Box.”

Bow Wow is best known as a record-breaking child rapper known as Lil Bow Wow with hit singles, “Bounce with Me” featuring Xscape, “Bow Wow (That’s My Name)” featuring Snoop Dogg, “Puppy Love” featuring Jagged Edge, and “Ghetto Girls.”

Both Omarion and Bow Wow have had crossover success as actors.

Before launching a Grammy Award-winning solo career, Ashanti hit it big in 2002 when she was featured on Fat Joe’s “What’s Luv?” and Ja Rule’s “Always on Time.”
