Snoop Dogg and Erykah Badu coming to Columbia on Mother’s Day

Hip hop and R&B fans in Columbia can rejoice as two of its biggest stars are coming to Colonial Life Arena for a concert.

Snoop Dogg and Erykah Badu were announced as headliners for the MayDay II music festival, concert promoters said in a news release.

The show will be held on May 10, which happens to be Mother’s Day.

Tickets for the performance will go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m., and are available online at Ticketmaster or at the arena box office.

Information on ticket prices was not available.

The rest of the lineup has not been announced for the concert.

Snoop Dogg is a legendary rapper and multi-platinum artist, selling more than 35 million albums worldwide, according to the release.

Some of his biggest hits include “Who Am I (What’s My Name)?” ”Gin and Juice,” “Nuthin’ But A ‘G’ Thang,” and “Drop It Like It’s Hot.”

Badu is a Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter known for her cutting-edge talent and soulful voice, it said in the release.

Some of her biggest hits include “On & On,” “Tyrone,” and “You Got Me.”
