Netflix movie starring Marlon Wayans filming in Charleston
A Netflix film set for release in 2017 will likely look awfully familiar to Lowcountry residents.
That’s because the media company’s upcoming release “Naked” will be filmed in Charleston starting in October.
Starring Marlon Wayans and Regina Hall, the romantic comedy is based on the Swedish film, “Naken.”
“The response I’ve gotten from fans worldwide to my films on Netflix has been overwhelming, and I’m thrilled to be working with them on an original film. Also, I’m excited to be working with Regina again,” Wayans said.
Wayans stars as Rob Anderson, a charming man-child, who wakes up on his wedding day, naked in an elevator, reliving the hour before the ceremony over and over again, a Netflix press release said.
“Naked” will be Netflix’s first feature film based in South Carolina, according to The (Charleston) Post & Courier.
The romantic comedy reunites Wayans with director Michael Tiddes and is written by Cory Koller, Wayans and Rick Alvarez.
Naked will premiere globally on Netflix in 2017.
