Kennerly, Coogler roads closed for 2 weeks for roundabout construction

The intersection of Kennerly and Coogler roads in Irmo will be closed Nov. 9-22 for construction of a new roundabout connecting Kennerly, Coogler and Steeple Ridge roads.

Kennerly Road traffic will be detoured along Hollingshed Road, and Coogler Road traffic will be detoured along Koon Road and Connie Wright Road.

The roundabout project, near River Springs Elementary School, is part of the Richland County Transportation Penny Program.

Columbia-owned construction contractor C.R. Jackson Construction Co. is handling the project. The entire intersection improvement should be mostly complete by March 2017.
